Online Technical Survey Course

The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) in coordination with the Directorate of Mine Action Coordination (DMAC) is  organising an TS in Mine Action Training, that will take place from the 28th to the 30th of November in Kabul.

Technical Survey (TS) is a crucial step in the Land Release process for identifying, confirming and improving definitions of the boundaries of hazardous areas and the nature and distribution of their contents. Information gathered by the TS significantly helps with decision making and subsequent use of appropriate tools and resources, contributing directly to increased operational and cost efficiency and effectiveness. This course will strive to provide clear definitions and guidance on what is considered a good practice and what is recommended by the International Mine Action Standards. The course will also provide a platform for participants from various operational contexts to come together and share experiences.

Selected participants will be required to take a short baseline pre-qualification test (online) and an end of course final test in the classroom.

Upon successful completion participants will be awarded a certificate of completion.

The course will be delivered in Dari.
