ARCP Regional Ammunition Practitioner
The GICHD Arab Regional Cooperation Programme (ARCP) in partnership with the National Committee of Demining and Rehabilitation (NCDR) of Jordan and the Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC) is organising ARCP Regional Ammunition Practitioner in Amman, Jordan from 2 to 5 December 2018. The regional workshop will be conducted in English, with Arabic translation provided and is funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and Switzerland.

00Objetivo
The regional ARCP Ammunition Practitioner aims at assisting states in applying good ammunition safety management practices to all their ammunition stocks and facilities, reducing the potential for explosions in, and diversion from, ammunition storage areas and thereby mitigating the risk to the civil population.
00Programa y métodos
The ARCP aims to enhance cooperation within the countries in the region which are affected by landmines, cluster munitions and other explosive remnants of war (ERW).
In particular, the ARCP Regional Ammunition Practitioner will enhance cooperation in the region on the issue of ammunition safety management according to the IATG.
The course duration is 4 days and it is designed for Ammunition Operators and Managers.
Ammunition Operator module will introduce participants to the principles of ammunition storage safety and security in accordance with the IATG, now available also in Arabic.
Ammunition Manager module will expand the topic from individual storehouse to an ammunition storage area and set out the must-know about safe and secure management of ammunition stockpiles, and principles of ammunition life cycle management as per the IATG.
The activity will be conducted indoors, via Power Point as the main method of delivery with practical discussion sessions, group exercises, questions and answers techniques for consolidation of key learning points.

Ammunition Operator: Ammunition operators, storekeepers, processors and accountants, ideal for non-commissioned officers, warrant officers, police and civilian personnel directly involved in ammunition storage and handling at practitioner level.
Ammunition Manager: Depot supervisors and managers, ammunition inspectors, auditors and regulators, thus appropriate for mid- and senior rank officers, commandants and equal police and civilian personnel directly involved in ammunition stockpile management. The Ammunition Manager participants are strongly encouraged to attend also the Ammunition Operator module.
It is envisaged that all participants are present for the whole duration of the training course.

The GICHD and National Committee of Demining and Rehabilitation (NCDR) of Jordan will provide necessary administration and logistic support for all the participants, including visa support letters.
The GICHD offers sponsorships for 2 representatives from each country or programme that does not have the financial means to cover their participation and if the need is justified. The GICHD will provide support in the form of air tickets and accommodation during the training course. Participants have to undertake necessary procedures to obtain their visas.
The participants are expected to arrive on 1 December and depart on 5 December 2018 COB.
