The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) organises a regional Quality Management Course focusing on the Balkans, aiming at increasing efficiency, effectiveness, results and achievement of strategic goals through improved and enhanced Quality Management (QM) processes. The course will take place from 24 November to 01 December 2021 in Belgrade, Serbia. The course will be instructed in English with simultaneous interpretation into the local language.
The objective of the course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge and skills on how to implement the MA project cycle for better results through improved quality.

The course will cover the following topics:
1. Overview of Land Release
2. Introduction to key QM principles
3. Understanding QM terminology
4. Quality planning for NTS, TS and Clearance
5. Mechanical demining operations and QM
6. Quality Assurance in MA
7. Quality Control in MA
8. Accreditation and the testing and evaluation of MA equipment and staff
9. How to instigate change in MA organisations and applying what you have learned
Practical information will be provided upon completion of the selection process.
This training course is aimed at individuals working in the Balkans in operational managerial roles looking to expand their knowledge and to explore best practices.

Participants are responsible for monitoring the host country's Covid-19 rules and regulations as well as the necessary entry requirements. Participants are also required to comply with the country's and the training center's health and sanitary regulations.

The GICHD will not cover health care expenses or any expenses related to Covid-19, including quarantine/isolation. All participants are themselves responsible for obtaining adequate insurance (health, accident and liability) and covering any additional costs that might arise as a result of Covid-19 (such as PCR and antigen tests, hotel costs for quarantine, flight change etc..).
GICHD will be covering the cost of the course, including accommodation, meals, coffee breaks, and classroom materials. International travel costs will not be covered.
