Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA) Core Administrator - South East Asia Course
The Swiss Government has the honor to invite qualified representatives from all mine action programmes and operators based in the South East Asia region to this course.
The training will be based on IMSMA Core. The training language will be English.
Interpretation services will be provided in 4 languages which shall be the languages spoken by the majority of attendees.
Note: The training course is subject to the final budget availability. However, selected applicants are kindly requested NOT to proceed with any logistical arrangements before the final confirmation from the GICHD side.

00Objetivo
On a managerial level, the objectives of the course are to;
- Acquire knowledge on IM principles and concepts;
- Understand the importance of identifying information requirements prior to developing data flows (from collection to reporting);
- Gain awareness of the need to communicate and coordinate with strategic and operational personnel within one’s respective organisation.
On a technical level, the objectives of the course are to:
- Learn how to administer and use IMSMA Core;
- Configure IMSMA Core according to the programmes’ needs and in coordination with operations and programme management.
00Programa y métodos
This 5-day training course will familiarise the participants with information management principles and concepts, the role of information management in mine action.
Furthermore, the IMSMA Core environment is presented and participants learn how to manage users and permissions, content and groups.
In addition, participants learn how to configure the system according to their organisation's needs, through designing forms for data entry, creating maps and apps for data visualisation and validation, and configuring dashboards for reporting purposes.
Data management processes within the IMSMA Core environment are also addressed.
00Participantes
This course is open to all Mine Action Programmes and operators based in the South East Asia region. It is intended for participants from National Mine Action Programmes and their Operating Partners who are or will be posted to senior Information Management positions within their respective organisations.
Target Audience:

▪It is important that participants of this course have strong technical database skills and team or project management skills. In addition, the active participation of students during the training is required.

eLearning Modules 1 to 4 from Primer Level Training.

Introduction to Gender and Diversity in Mine Action.

Understanding International Mine Action Standards (IMAS).

The selection process (to a maximum of 17 participants) will be completed over the following few weeks and will prioritize applicants from National Mine Action Programmes and their Operating Partners who are or will be posted to Information Management positions within their respective organisations.
DISCLAIMER: All participants are themselves responsible for adequate insurance (health, accident and liability) or need a Governmental guarantee to cover any health care expenses in Thailand.
00Precio
The Swiss Government will cover participant expenses of travel (to and from the venue) as well as all meals and accommodation while in Bangkok (from June 2nd - to June 6th).
All participants are responsible for having adequate travel and health insurance for the entire duration of their stay in Thailand.
GICHD may request further information as necessary.
00Requisitos de equipación
Please bring your own laptop that:
- Runs on either Windows 7 or higher
- Has at least a screen size of 11 inch
- Is scanned for viruses
- Has at least 32 GB of free space.
Please note that we will install software such as ArcGIS Pro. Administrative rights on your laptop would be preferred. Neither GICHD nor the venue can provide you with a training laptop so please do ensure that you will have the necessary equipment.
