IMAS Training: Land Release and All Reasonable Effort
The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), in coordination with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe - Project Co-ordination in Ukraine (OSCE PCU), is organizing a training on International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) focusing on Land Release and All Reasonable Effort that will take place from the 18 to 22 October 2021 in Kharkiv.
Selected participants will be required to take a baseline evaluation (with no influence on the final test) and a final test at the end of the course.
Upon successful completion participants will be awarded a certificate of completion.

00Objetivo
The IMAS are build as a framework based on international good practices and guiding the completion of four mine action pillars: clearance, EORE, victim assistance and stockpile destruction.
The objective of this training is to ensure the understanding of the systematic and structured approach to mine action as it is proposed by the IMAS framework. This training will focus on the management (e.g. quality and risk management) and operational aspects (e.g. non-technical survey, technical survey and clearance) of Land Release through All Reasonable Efforts.
It is intended to facilitate the application of Ukrainian National Mine Action Standards by national staff with a management or operational role in mine action.

Further organizational details will be shared with the selected candidates by OSCE PCU and the GICHD. Learning will be ensured through a combination of presentations, study cases and interactive exercises.
00Participantes
Please note that this course is exclusively for Ukraine. Only participants nominated and agreed with their respective organisations and then by OSCE-PU will be accepted. Particularly, this training course is intended for national mine action staff with management or operational role, especially within the Humanitarian Demining Center and the Mine Action Center. In addition, staff with a role in mine action from the State Emergency Service Unit, the State Special Transport Service, the Ministry of Reintegration and the Ministry of Defence can be considered.

Pre Requisite:
All selected participants are requested to complete the e-learning course on Introduction to Gender and Diversity in Mine Action before the start of the course as a prerequisite requirement. Please note the course is available in both English and Ukrainian.
00Precio
The GICHD in collaboration with the OSCE PCU will be covering the cost of the training, except transportation costs. This includes accommodation, meals, coffee breaks, and classroom materials.
Participants are also required to comply with the training centre's health and sanitary regulations. The GICHD will not cover health care expenses, or any expenses related to Covid-19, including quarantine/isolation. All participants are themselves responsible for obtaining adequate insurance (health, accident, and liability) and covering any additional costs that might arise as a result of Covid-19 (such as PCR and antigen tests etc.).
00Requisitos de equipación
The participants can bring their laptops to the course, however, this is not compulsory.
