PRCP regional workshop on Legal Efficiency and Liability
The GICHD Persian Regional Cooperation Programme (PRCP) in partnership with Tajikistan National Mine Action Centre (TNMAC) and Afghanistan Directorate of Mine Action Coordination (DMAC) is organising PRCP regional workshop on Legal Efficiency and Liability in Dushanbe from 28 to 30 November 2017. The workshop will be conducted in English, with translation provided and is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.

The PRCP regional workshop on Legal Efficiency and Liability aims at delivering a training on Legal Efficiency in mine action including but not limited to:

00Program and Method
The Persian Regional Cooperation Programme (PRCP) aims to enhance cooperation within the Farsi-Dari speaking countries which are affected by landmines, cluster munitions and other explosive remnants of war (ERW).
PRCP regional workshop on Legal Efficiency and Liability contributes to the overarching goal to support the Persian regional mine action authorities in sharing experiences and capacity development to efficiently apply standards, methods and tools in operational planning and land release. This workshop will enhance cooperation in the region on the issue of liability, which constitutes an essential part of land release as stipulated in IMAS 07.11 on Land Release. It will assist authorities in better defining criteria for the release of the land by NTS, TS or Clearance, which will help the main factors in deciding liability.
The workshop is a daily structured activity and will follow a tailored programme designed to address specifically the needs of the mine action authorities. Built around different lessons, the workshop will oversee the following elements: Introduction and Administration, Terms and Definitions in Contracting, Terms and Definitions in Liability, Contract Management, International Conventions, Project Cycle Management, Contracting in Mine Action; Tenders, Contracting and Land Release, Contracting and Legal Issues, Liability in Mine Action, Liability Insurance, Contracting and Gender, and the final Group Exercise.
The activity will be conducted indoors, via Power Point as the main method of delivery with practical discussion sessions, questions and answers techniques for consolidation of key learning points.
00Cost
The GICHD and TNMAC will provide necessary administration and logistic support for all the participants.
The GICHD will provide support in the form of air tickets and accommodation during the conference. The TNMAC will provide support in visas for all participants. The participants are expected to arrive on 27 November and depart on 30 November 2017.
