Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Workshop

In collaboration with the Maison de la Paix Gender & Diversity Hub, the Gender and Diversity Programme (GMAP) of the GICHD is organising a workshop on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) for the mine action and broader security sector.  The aim of the workshop is to increase the capacity of mine action and security sector organisations in understanding and responding to SEA, as well as to input on the final version of the guidance on PSEA currently being produced by the GICHD.

The PSEA Workshop is taking place in the context of the current drafting of guidance on the topic of PSEA for the mine action sector by GICHD. GICHD will contract an expert consultant approved by the CHS Alliance to deliver a two-day workshop to Safeguarding/PSEA Focal Points and other personnel tasked with PSEA across mine action and MdP Gender & Diversity Hub organisations.

The participants will be familiarised with the main principles of safe environments and will have time to go more in detail into response mechanisms and investigative processes.

The participants will be encouraged to share examples and good practices.

The training language is English.

Start date: Thursday 19 September

End date: Friday 20 September

Location: The training will take place at the GICHD offices in Maison de la Paix, Geneva

Costs: Each participant will be in charge of covering the costs of travel and accommodation, but the workshop costs, venue, material and lunch will be provided by the GICHD.
