Technical Survey Training - Bosnia and Herzegovina

Technical Survey (TS) is crucial step in the Land Release process for identifying, confirming and improving definitions of the boundaries of hazardous areas and the nature and distribution of their contents. Information gathered by the TS significantly helps with the decision making and subsequent use of appropriate tools and resources, contributing directly to increase of operational and cost efficiency and effectiveness. This course will strive to provide clear definitions and guidance on what is considered a good practice and what is recommended by the international mine action standards. The course will also provide a platform for participants from various operational contexts to come together and share experiences.

This training course will be held at the NPA Global Training Centre in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where participants will have the opportunity to gain theoretical knowledge, but also will be exposed to practical demonstrations and exercises. This is a pilot course and participants will be asked to provide a feedback on the course itself and on new tool that will be used during this course – Technical Simulator (TSIM).

Successful applicants are advised that there will be a short baseline pre-qualification test (online) and that there will be a final test at the classroom. Upon successful completion participants will be awarded a certificate.

This course is being delivered as a partnership between GICHD and NPA.
