The GICHD and the Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC), are organising, in the context of the Arab Regional Cooperation Programme (ARCP), a Regional Mine Action Operational Risk Management course, that will take place from 28 October to 1 November at the Regional School for Humanitarian Demining in Lebanon (RSHDL).
This five-day course will cover aspects of risk management for mine action operations. It is focused on practical measures to improve applied risk management in the field. However, it also identifies ways that individuals at all levels can improve risk management in an organisation, including at the programme management level.
This training course will be held in Arabic and English and is co-funded and supported by GFFO, Finland and Switzerland.

The objective of this course is to provide knowledge and tools to better enable operational staff to manage risks in their programmes.
The Training Course duration is 5 days with classroom-based instruction and exercises. Arrival day will be on the 27 October and departure will be on 1 or 2 November, depending on flight availability.
Applicants must be from a mine action organization (national authorities and NGOs) from the MENA region.
The participant shall be endorsed by his / her organisation, self-nominations are not accepted.
The GICHD and LMAC will provide necessary administration and logistic support for all the confirmed participants, including the visa application support. For the confirmed participants, valid health insurance coverage in Lebanon for the period of stay, and a colour passport photograph should be attached to the application form.
GICHD will be covering the cost of the Training Course. This includes accommodation within RSHDL - Hammana, meals, coffee breaks and classroom materials. Transfer to and from Beirut airport is supported by LMAC/RSHDL.
The GICHD offers limited sponsorships to representatives of national authorities who do not have the financial means to cover their participation and if the need is justified. The GICHD will provide support in the form of air tickets.
