Information Management e-learning: Module 3 "Introduction à ArcGIS Survey123" and Module 4 "Introduction to Web Maps and Dashboards"

With the gracious support of the Swiss Government, through the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS), GICHD is delighted to announce that the registration forms for two online e-learning modules, namely "Introduction to ArcGIS Survey123" and "Introduction to Web Maps and Dashboards", are now open. These modules have been developed for seamless remote completion, ensuring accessibility for all participants.

The self-paced eLearning modules contribute towards gaining fundamental knowledge based on IMSMA Core. The training language will be English.

Introduction to ArcGIS Survey123:

ArcGIS Survey123 can be used to collect data on mine action activities in your programme. The creation of surveys that follow the minimum data requirements set by International Mine Action Standards(IMAS) 5.10 is essential to the Information Management Cycle, because the structure of the survey also determines the structure of the collected mine action database that stores your reports. This course introduces you to the basics of survey creation in ArcGIS Survey123 Connect, including question types, choice list creation, and customisation options. Additionally, you will apply what you learn about minimum data requirements and Survey123 to build two commonly used forms in mine action programmes: the Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) survey form and the Non-technical Survey (NTS) form.

Introduction to Web Maps and Dashboards:
Web maps and web apps, such as dashboards, are part of the Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA) Core. When creating a web map, you should carefully consider its purpose and which configurations can fulfil that purpose. There are specific design principles that you can use to improve the usability of the web map. A dashboard should also be planned out to ensure that it includes all of the data and elements needed to deliver its intended message. In this course, you will explore different web maps and dashboards to understand how they are designed and created. You will also apply key design principles during the process of creating and configuring an effective web map and dashboard.
