Within the framework of the Partnership between the ASEAN Mine Action Center (ARMAC) and the GICHD, we have the honour to invite participants from the National and International Mine Action Organisations and from National Mine Action Authorities (NMAA) to the learning course on Mine Action Managers in Southeast Asia taking place from 13 to 24 February 2023 in Ratchaburi, Thailand.
Gender and Diversity
The GICHD promotes good gender and diversity practices to avoid all forms of discrimination. Applications are encouraged from women, minorities, persons with disabilities and persons of all sexual orientation or gender identity.
The 10-day training course aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of Mine Action staff with the following training objectives:
This course will be delivered in a classroom setting, with a number of interactive group exercises and practical elements. In preparation for the course, all participants are required to review preparatory reading material and complete mandatory online modules as a prerequisite for attending the course.
This training course will be developed to be inclusive and interactive, enabling peer-led knowledge-sharing and reflective learning, through Q&A and simulation exercises. This approach to learning is in line with best practices for adult learning, with a focus on participants understanding the “why’ and the “how” of Operational Management in MA.
The number of participants is limited to 22. Preference will be given to individuals directly working in mine action operations. The GICHD is committed to gender equality, inclusivity, and providing equal opportunities.
Please note that this course is specifically aimed at professionals working in Southeast Asia. Applications from outside the region will not be accepted.
The course will be conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation into Thai, Laotian, Vietnamese, and Khmer.
The GICHD will cover the costs of food and accommodation for all course participants.
For the representatives of the national authorities and national organisations, travel costs from the country of origin to the training location will be covered by GICHD.
DISCLAIMER
The GICHD will not cover health care expenses. All participants are themselves responsible for obtaining adequate insurance (health, accident, and liability) and covering any additional costs that might arise as a result of Covid-19.
