The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) and the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC), are organising a Quality Management Course for the ARMAC national authorities, as well as national and international operators. Applicants from the region will be prioritized for the course.
The Training course is designed to provide knowledge on how to implement the mine action (MA) project cycle for better results through improved quality. The course will take place from September 7th to 12th online and will be held in English.
The Training is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) and the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC), have co-organised an online Quality Management Course.
The objective of this course is to increase efficiency, effectiveness, results and achievement of strategic goals through improved and enhanced quality management (QM) processes.
The course modules include:
The course will be entirely online and will cover the following topics:
1. Overview of Land Release
2. Introduction to key Quality Management principles
3. Understanding QM terminology
4. Quality planning for NTS, TS and Clearance
5. Mechanical demining operations and QM
6. Quality Assurance in MA
7. Quality Control in MA
8. Accreditation and the testing and evaluation of MA equipment and staff
9. How to instigate change in MA organisations and applying what you have learned
Practical information will be provided upon completion of the selection process.
This training course is aimed at individuals in operational managerial roles looking to expand their knowledge and to explore best practices.
GICHD encourages national staff to attend this course. GICHD will seek to ensure gender and diversity-balanced participation.
This training course is free of charge.
As the course will be delivered entirely online, it is imperative that students have access to a computer or laptop with a good internet connection.
