Operations Analyst Course
The aim of this course to enhance attendee's knowledge, skills and attitudes when dealing with their day-to-day operational duties within their respective mine action programme.
The objectives of the course are to:
- Facilitate the constant flow of quality information between departments and organisations;
- Strengthen the analysis and interpretation of available data and information. This is essential to improve decision making related to further clearing, tasking, prioritization and reporting.
- Enhance the ability of course participants to efficiently plan, implement, monitor, assess and evaluate mine action operations.

00Objective
The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) organized an Operations Analyst course from the 15 to 19 November 2021.
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Define the concepts of Information Management, Land Release and Quality Management and their inter-dependencies in mine action;
- Identify tools available for operational analysis, and acquire fundamental knowledge of their uses;
- Formulate KPIs (key performance indicators) related to mine action at various levels;
- Use the knowledge gained to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of mine action activities.

This training course is aimed at individuals in operational managerial roles looking to expand their knowledge and to explore best practices.

Participants are responsible for monitoring the host country's Covid-19 rules and regulations as well as the necessary entry requirements. Participants are also required to comply with the country's and the training center's health and sanitary regulations. The GICHD will not cover health care expenses or any expenses related to Covid-19, including quarantine/isolation. All participants are themselves responsible for obtaining adequate insurance (health, accident and liability) and covering any additional costs that might arise as a result of Covid-19 (such as PCR and antigen tests, hotel costs for quarantine, flight change etc..).
00Cost
GICHD will be covering the cost of the course, except transportation costs. This includes accommodation, meals, coffee breaks, and classroom materials.
00Equipment Requirements
Participants are required to bring their laptops to the course.
